Mt Ruapeh 2019 snow camp

Te Waka Ako class went to camp on the 20th of August. Before camp we had to have long sleeves, a pair of jumpers, long thermals, our ski jacket and ski pants and water proof gloves and also woollen gloves. I helped my mum to pack all my clothes and stuff for my camp. Before camp I was feeling nervous because it might be hard at camp because I wasn't sure what will happen there.

Finally the camp bus was here. I was scared and nervous about leaving behind Mum, Dad , Kayci and Tesalonia. I sat on the bus with my best friend. Our first stop was at Hamilton Gardens. At Hamilton Gardens there were lots of plants and flowers and beautiful stones. We had to find the things on the paper around the Hamilton Gardens. Once we had finished we walked back to the bus and went to our next stop.

Our next stop, we were at Otorohonga park at the Ed Hillary Walkway. At the Ed Hillary Walkway there were lots of picture boards. We have to find different boards to fill in the piece of paper.  We walked down to the Otorohonga Park. At the park there were lots of things that we got to play on in the playground.

At our next stop at Taumaranui School we played on the playground and there were lots of swings and slides. Then we moved on to the Crossing Backpackers where we stayed. We got our beds ready and then we all went to the dinner hall where we ate vegetable soup and after that we had desserts. We played games before we went to bed.

The next morning after breakfast we put on our ski stuff, like a ski jacket, ski pants, woollen gloves, woollen socks, waterproof gloves, an orange beanie and goggles. Then we hit the ski slopes. Finally we were at Mount Ruapehu and there were lots of skiers and snowboarders and rocks covered in snow were everywhere.  We did our ski lessons with the instructor and then we practised on our own. The snow was slippery and scary down the snow mountain. Once we were finished at Mount Ruapehu it was time to go back  home.

On the way back home we stopped at the Taupo pools. The Taupo pools were so warm and hot. Then I felt warm and relaxed.  Once we finished at Taupo pools we jumped back on the bus and drove back home. Then I fell asleep on the bus. When I woke we were finally back at school. Then I saw my Mum and Dad. I was so happy to see my family again. I can't wait to go back to Mount Ruapehu with my family. I hope you enjoyed my experience blog, blog you later.
